Sharon Wimsett, 62, of New Haven, Kentucky, passed away on September 3, 2022 at her home in the arms of her family.
Sharon was born in Bardstown, Kentucky to Randel and Suetta Ballard on October 26, 1959 and grew up in Holy Cross. She married Harold Wimsett on November 24, 1979.
Sharon, also known as Mimi to her loved ones, always made others laugh and smile with her wonderful sense of humor. Her greatest joy in life was her love of her family, especially her grandchildren. Sharon was a member of Saint Catherine Catholic Church. She was a passionate and talented artist. You could often find Sharon quilting, painting, or bringing furniture back to life through refinishing. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to everyone she knew. Sharon enjoyed traveling and if you were fortunate enough to take a trip with her then you were truly blessed. Whether she was going down a back road singing country songs or working hard on a project she always had a positive outlook on life that made everyone smile. Sharon loved playing games and enjoyed and cherished the simple things in life, faith, family, friends and farm life.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father Randel Ballard and brother Glenn Ballard.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 42 years, Harold Wimsett; three daughters, Carla (Gabe) Smith, Jenna (Nick) Sheridan and Emily Wimsett; six grandsons, Trey, Aidan, Gage, Xavier, Jackson and Dominick; her mother Suetta Ballard; siblings, Karen (Steve) Heintz, Annette Ballard and David (Pat) Ballard; as well as many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.
Pallbearers will be her brother and brothers-in-law, David Ballard, Steve Heintz, Dennis Wimpsett, Rusty Wimsett, Tom Wimsett and Greg Wimsett
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 PM Tuesday September 6, 2022 prayer service will begin at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home and 8:30 AM-11:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at William R. Rust Funeral Home located at 167 North Main Street New Haven, Kentucky.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 7, 2022 in the Saint Catherine Catholic Church with Father Scott Wimsett, Father Wayne Jenkins and Father Matthew Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Catherine Cemetery.
