Katherine “Kathy” Rene Plouvier Scamahorn, 70, of Bardstown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday December 20, 2022 at Uof L Hospital in Louisville.

Katherine Scamahorn was born March 6, 1952, to the late Hubert and Mary Hattie Merrifield Plouvier.

Eula was a loving mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph “Gary” Scamahorn, one brother, Charles Plouvier, four sisters, Joyce Mattingly, Minnie McFelia, Doty Hornback, and Myrtle Plouvier.

Katherine is survived by one son; Chris (Ashley) Scamahorn of Shepherdsville, two daughters, Leanne (Brett) Russell of Virginia, and Stephanie (Charles) Hagan of Bloomfield, Kentucky. Seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday December 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Matthew Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bardstown.

Visitation for Katherine Rene Plouvier Scamahorn will be held Monday December 26, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel and will continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
