Marion Winford Williams, 95, of Hodgenville, KY passed away January, 29,2024 at his residence.  He was born June 4, 1928 to the late Jesse Virgil and Ora Katherine Dunn Williams.

He was a member of the Union Christian Church Hodgenville. He was an Air Force Veteran. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 34 years.  He enjoyed using his private pilot license to take his children on many flights.  He loved going to Churchill Downs and sharing his knowledge of the horses, jockeys, and betting strategies with his extended family, all of whom loved sharing the experience with him.  Most of the time he walked away a winner!  He also loved gardening and was a wonderful cook.  Spending time with his family, sharing stories and telling jokes brought him great joy.  He was deeply loved by many and will be deeply missed.  

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four  brothers, Lyman Williams, J.C. Williams, Lewis Williams, Larry Williams; two sisters, Juanita Sprowls and Imogene Williams.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Doyle Atherton Williams of Hodgenville; son Dan (Donna) Williams of Norman, OK; daughters, Wende Williams of Oklahoma City,OK, Terri Williams of Red Bluff, CA, Shelly (Mike) McSparrin of Yukon, OK, and Stacy (Bill) Holleman of  Denver, CO; Mother of his children Sara Gardner Williams Joyner; sister Jeanetta Green of Springfield,IL; ten grand children; eleven great grand children; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 3,2024 at William R. Rust Hodgenville Chapel, with Bro. Steve Campbell and Sid Lewis officiating, with burial to follow at Union Christian Cemetery Hodgenville.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, February 2, 2024 and will continue at 9:30 am Saturday February 3, 2024  until time of service at William R. Rust Hodgenville Chapel.

William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville is in charge of all arrangements.
